ABOUT
LUCY E. ZAHNLE
History and historical romance have been a cherished part of Lucy Zahnle’s life since she was a teen. In her stories, she tries to give readers a sense of the eras depicted not only through physical descriptions, but the speech, manners, and attitudes of the characters. She believes in making her heroes and heroines work for their happily-ever-after by facing inner turmoil as well as worldly perils because, to really know her characters, readers should know their minds and hearts and souls as well as their actions.

The mother of four children, she is the widowed wife of Colonel Vincent Zahnle, a brave soldier, creative artist, and wonderful man whom she misses every day. She lives on a hundred acres of land in the Missouri wilderness with one son, one dog, and ten cats, none of whom, alas, are willing to proofread.

The Dunwarrick Curse
When his nightmares…

Home from Spain at the end of the Peninsular War, Major Harry Wolford ekes out a living writing lending-library novels and doing other men’s dirty work. His entire life, he has suffered from nightmares revolving around a hate-filled woman beset by fire. When he learns he has inherited an earldom, he’s stunned, but his title comes with huge debts, the taint of madness, and, supposedly, a curse. Nevertheless, determined to save his estates, he knows he must marry for money and quickly. He turns to his friend, Viscount Dellingham, to help him find a wealthy bride. Dellingham knows just the girl — his uncle’s cousin and ward, Miss Gwenyth Dunwick. Granted, the woman is a bit odd —supposedly she sees ghosts— but anxious to be rid of her, her guardian, the Earl of Greyland, is offering a generous dowry to the man willing to accept her eccentricities. A bit of gallantry, a moonlit kiss, and her heart —and money— should be Harry’s, but when he meets her, he’s shocked to find himself staring at his nightmare woman come to life. His first instinct is to run...
Become her reality…

Miss Gwenyth Dunwick sees ghosts, hears ghosts, feels ghosts. Her ‘gift’ has been the bane of her existence, but never more so than when she meets Major Harry Wolford, who has the face of the demon knight in her nightmares. He’s also beset by ghosts —truly evil ones! Most particularly, a furious phantom woman wrapped in flames has attached herself to him, swathing him in malevolence. His haunting is strong, though he’s unaware of it, and it’s affecting her behavior. In the midst of a psychic vision of the demon knight, she has disgraced herself by kissing Wolford in broad daylight in Hyde Park. Now her family wants her to marry him to avoid a scandal. Her first instinct is to run…
The Rogue's Revenge
Learning of the death of his grandfather, the Duke of Lynkellyn, almost a year after his passing, disgraced nobleman, Robert Amberley (Rogue Robin, to his friends) returns to England after twelve years of ignoble adventuring to clear his name and claim his legacy as the new Duke of Lynkellyn. Although Robin inherits the title and its attendant obligations, to claim the late duke's personal fortune, he must marry within a year of his grandfather's death and produce a child from the marriage within two. Otherwise, his treacherous cousin, Giles Bridland, Lord Mountheathe, will inherit the fortune. It lacks but a fortnight until the first anniversary of the old duke's death and Robin has yet to find a suitable bride.
When Lucia Cothcourt, a spirited governess with a dark secret past of her own, hears rumors of the scandalous duke's arrival in the area, she pays little attention. His Grace, however, is not quite so indifferent. His fancy lights on Lucia, and he offers her a marriage of convenience. When Lucia turns him down, he abducts her and coerces her into marriage. But their struggles are not over. Next comes a duel, blackmail, and murder attempts against both of them. Forced to stand together against a snarling world, Robin and Lucia must confront the hostility of the beau monde and the hatred and disapproval of family and erstwhile friends, one of whom wants them dead, while they struggle to overcome their distrust of each other without surrendering to the most dangerous enemy of all: the insistent urgings of their hearts.
